There’s an old saying that says “if you keep doing what you are doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting”. This is true whether it is dieting or exercise or many other things we could mention. Most of us know that if we want change in our lives, we must create new habits and stay the course. It is a lifestyle change. One cannot go on a diet, lose 20 pounds, then go back to eating unhealthily. If we go to the gym, tone up and get in shape, we can’t go back to being lazy and laying on the couch and never exercising again. It is a lifestyle change. This is also true if we want to grow spiritually. As Christians, we have the Holy Spirit residing within us, so we don’t have any excuse not to live differently than the world. But the Holy Spirit is not going to push a lifestyle change down our throats. He must have something to work with. We must create sone new habits. Our ministry motto is “Making a difference, because Christ has made us different”. We all admire the person who knows their bible, can quote scripture, boldly witnesses to the lost, and lives in a way that all around them knows that they are saved. This does not happen unless a person creates some new habits. Getting up a little early and reading your bible every day, read a good devotional, choose out some key passages and memorize them, go to church and Sunday school every Sunday. Pray that God would create a hunger within you for the Word of God. Ask God to expose the sin in your life and repent. It is not easy to create new habits, but all of us have some bad habits so replace the less desirable habits with some positive and helpful habits. Maybe less time on social media, playing games, and watching TV and more time in the bible. Create some new habits and go out and make a difference, because Christ has made you different.
