Corrupt Communication

Ephesians 4:29 teaches that our communication should never be corrupt, but only that which is good to the use of edifying. I am around many professing Christians who do not consider their profanity as a sin. Some will tell dirty jokes or stories to get a laugh not realizing that their loose language is hindering their testimony, lowering the standards of what people think Christians should be like, and severely hindering any chance for a lost person to be saved when they hear you speak. You may say that it is only words and I don’t mean anything by it. Luke 6:45 says “for of the abundance of the heart his heart speaks “. Many sins that we commit are with our tongue such as lying, cussing, gossip, slander. This talk does not edify but causes great harm to the body of Christ. If you have a habit of cussing, ask God to forgive you and then to fill you so that we can make a difference, because Christ has made us different.
